11/20 Positive COVID-19 case at GM High School

As an integral part of our district’s Health and Safety Plan communications protocol, we are advising you of a new COVID-19 case on the Governor Mifflin campus.

We have sent a separate phone call and email to individuals who will be required to quarantine as a result of this case. However, if you have previously received a quarantine notice, please continue to quarantine following the dates provided in that previous notice.


IMPORTANT ONGOING REMINDERS:

Report COVID-19 Information
All students and staff should be forthcoming and take caution if they believe they have been exposed to COVID-19 or are exhibiting symptoms. This information can be reported 24/7 by calling our confidential reporting hotline at 610-775-1461 x. 1113. Please leave your name and contact information and a district administrator will return your call promptly.

Complete Daily Health Screenings
All students and staff should complete a daily health screening before reporting to school. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions in the screening, do not come to school, monitor symptoms closely, and contact your health care provider. Likewise, If anyone in your household is pending a test result, report that information and keep all school age children at home while awaiting results.

Report out-of-state travel plans
As of November 20, 2020, the PA Department of Health announced changes in the requirements for returning to Pennsylvania from interstate travel. These requirements include:

  • Travelers entering/re-entering Pennsylvania from other states or international travel must quarantine for 14 days

OR

  • Have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering/re-entering Pennsylvania

Unlike previous Department of Health recommendations, this is now a requirement. Therefore, all GMSD students/families traveling out of state or country should comply. Please continue to complete the standard District Trip Request Form for any planned travel when school is in session. If school is not in session, please report any out-of-state travel to Mr. Dave Argentati, Director of Pupil Services (610-775-1461 x. 1307) in advance of all travel. Staff members should contact the Human Resources Department.
