Hello Governor Mifflin families,

As of 6:00 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, September 22, Governor Mifflin High School will be closed. This will be a complete closure of the building, to include all staff, so that a deep cleaning of the building can be completed. The building will reopen to resume our hybrid schedule on Monday, September 28. All high school athletics practices and competitions will be suspended during this time. All of today’s high school athletic competitions were cancelled. All other high school extracurricular activities will also be suspended during this building closure.

This closure is in response to a COVID-19 case. Due to the specific and unique circumstances of this case and out of an abundance of caution, we are proactively closing for a deep cleaning of the high school building with a planned tentative reopening of Monday, September 28.

We were made aware of this case late this afternoon so we are working through the contact tracing process at this time and we will provide additional information as we work through that process.

All high school classes will resume online beginning tomorrow morning and will follow the AM/PM hybrid schedule. All students should log on to their Google Classrooms.

All other school buildings will remain open at this time and Middle School extracurriculars will continue.

Due to the timing of extracurricular activities and the time of the day, we wanted to provide this immediate communication. Expect follow up communications throughout the evening.
