• GMIS Lifeguards - Proper certification required from one of the following: LG Certs, Jeff Ellis, BSA, Red Cross and YMCA lifeguard experience. Work shifts range from 2-5 hours throughout the day. Rotations include Mon-Fri, Mon & Wed, Tues & Thurs at indoor pool. Starting wage: $7.25/hour. Applicants must have a recent physical exam and TB test. EOE.

• GMIS Water Safety Instructors (WSI) - Red Cross WSI certification required. WSI will instruct the following indoor swimming programs: Learn to Swim lessons, Parent and Tots classes, adult swim lessons and Water Safety classes. Starting wage: $10.00/hour. Applicants must have a recent physical exam and TB test. EOE.

2012 Lifeguard Training Classes

March 5 - March 28
Mon & Wed, 7-10 p.m.
Fee: $250

Requirements: Students must be 15 years old before the last scheduled class session. Students must pass a swimming skills test during the pre-course session (to be scheduled). Students must attend ALL classes. There will be no make-up classes.

Description: This course will certify the student to lifeguard at pools. Standard first aid and CPR are required and will be included as part of this course.

Lifeguarding Review

Thursday, May 17, 5-10 p.m.
Friday, May 18, 5-10 p.m.
Fee: $75

This course is for people currently certified in lifeguard training that need to be recertified. This course is renewable every three years. A current lifeguard training certification card must be shown to take this course.

CPR/FPR Recertification

Spring I: Saturday, March 24; 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
Spring II: Saturday, May 19; 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
Fee: $50

This course is for people currently certified in CPR/FPR that need to be recertified. This course is renewable every year. A current CPR/FPR certification card must be shown to take this course.
