Brecknock Elementary School provides a safe, nurturing environment where students develop talents and abilities. Through a dedicated staff and supportive administration, Brecknock displays pride and high academic standards. Located in Berks County, Pennsylvania, the school is approximately sixty miles northwest of Philadelphia and serves approximately 525 students. Brecknock Elementary School meets the needs of all its students by providing support through Title I Reading, Instructional Support, Guidance Counseling, Emotional Support and Learning Support Classrooms and Gifted Services. A variety of programs that include Reading Camp, Summer Library, Preschool Storytime, Arts Day, Parents as Reading Partners and Children’s Gardening Project enhance student and community life at Brecknock. Strong community support is displayed by the PTO organization. This active group provides funding for school assemblies and other programs throughout the year. PTO also supplies over 300 volunteers who help in the school in a variety of ways. The school building is used after school hours for community meetings by Girl Scouts, Brownies, recreation leagues, and community soccer and baseball. With two new playgounds provided through the PTO within the last four years, we encourage our families and community members to use the school facilities as a viable part of the Brecknock community.
