
Greater Reading Area
The Governor Mifflin School district lies within the greater Reading area and offers hundreds of amenities for the residents of the district. The city of Reading boasts an IMAX Theatre, which shows popular movies and documentaries daily. Also in the city is the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, a community arts and cultural resource center. The GoggleWorks holds art exhibits and theatrical productions, offers classes and houses the studios of over 30 artists. The Sovereign Center and the Sovereign Center for the Performing Arts are also local venues for sports, entertainment and conventions. Events such as major performing artists' concerts, Reading Royals ice hockey games, as well as community sports and performances are all held at these two popular local attractions.
For fitness seekers, BodyZone Sports and Wellness Complex offers community sports leagues and fitness classes, houses an indoor track, ice rink and swimming pool, and includes a modern weight-room, all in a beautiful 160,000 square foot building located in Wyomissing. Also found in the greater Reading are the Reading Public Museum, the Berkshire Mall, Broadcasting Square, First Energy Stadium and hundreds of restaurants.
