GMIS Lifeguards - Proper certification required from one of the following: LG Certs, Jeff Ellis, BSA, Red Cross and YMCA lifeguard experience. Work shifts range from 2-5 hours throughout the day. Rotations include Mon-Fri, Mon & Wed, Tues & Thurs at indoor pool. Starting wage: $7.25/hour. Applicants must have a recent physical exam and TB test. EOE.

GMIS Water Safety Instructors (WSI) - Red Cross WSI certification required. WSI will instruct the following indoor swimming programs: Learn to Swim lessons, Parent and Tots classes, adult swim lessons and Water Safety classes. Starting wage: $10.00/hour. Applicants must have a recent physical exam and TB test. EOE.

Clearances:
All candidates are required to obtain a Criminal Background Check (Section 1-111 of the Pennsylvania School Code - Act 34), a Child Abuse Clearance (Sections 6354-6358 of the Public Welfare Code - Act 151) and a Federal Criminal History Record.
Criminal Background Check forms are available in the Education Center at Governor Mifflin or can be downloaded from the PA State Police Barrack's website (https://epatch.state.pa.us). The Background Check requires a $10 payment in the form of a credit card, certified check or money order made payable to the Commonwealth of PA.
Child Abuse Clearance forms are also available in the Education Center or from the Department of Public Welfare's website (http://www.dpw.state.pa.us/findaform/childabusehistoryclearanceforms). This clearance also requires a payment of $10 payable to the Department of Public Welfare in the form of a certified check or money order. Credit card payment is not accepted.
Effective April 1, 2007, candidates are required to obtain FBI Federal Criminal History Records. The fingerprint-based background check is a multiple-step process. The applicant must register first prior to going to a fingerprint site. Registration is completed online at www.pa.cogentid.com . The location of the fingerprint sites and day and hours of operation for each site is also posted on this website. To obtain these records, a payment of $36, in the form of a credit card or debit card, is required. No cash transactions or personal checks are allowed.
