Title 1

An award-winning school district, Governor Mifflin, in partnership with our community, is committed to prepare all students to become lifelong learners in order to be responsible, contributing citizens of an ever-changing global society.

Our graduates include an Olympic medalist, a Pulitzer-prize winning author, a nationally known television news anchor, a brigadier general in the United States Marine Corps, and a cardiovascular surgeon on the cutting-edge of medical research.

Brecknock Elementary was one of 23 schools in the United States and Canada to receive the International Reading Association’s (IRA) Exemplary Reading Program Award in 1999. Cumru Elementary was selected to participate in the Blue Ribbon School Program and was named an Elementary School of Distinction. In 1990, the middle school student council "Special Kids, Special Friends" project was named President Bush’s "280th Point of Light" for their work with Easter Seals children. The district's music department was recognized as one of 250 schools nationally to be named a Grammy® Signature School in 1999. The High School was awarded the distinguished Middle States accreditation in 2000. Mifflin Park Elementary School, completed in 2009, is the district's first LEED-accredited, "green" building.
