
The GMIS music curriculum is rooted in both the Pennsylvania Arts Standards and the National Standards of Music Education.
Grades 5 and 6 General Music Class
All students attend once a cycle for 45 minutes as a part of the specials curriculum.
ORCHESTRA - Includes violin, viola, violoncello and bass violin

Small group lessons meet once a six day cycle for 30 minutes

Orchestra rehearsals meet twice a six day cycle for 35 minutes

Performances include the Winter Holiday Concert and String Fling
BAND - Includes flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone horn, tuba, non-pitched percussion and pitched percussion (bells)
