School counselors are concerned with the educational, emotional and social development of all students in relation to their school experience. The school counselor is an integral part of the total school program, and they help to coordinate the efforts of pupils, parents, the professional staff and numerous specialists. In the delivery of professional school counseling services, the counselor is the key figure in bringing all stakeholders together to facilitate the educational, emotional and social adjustments of students.
A middle school counselor participates in many areas of guidance/counseling. Areas of involvement include: career education, scheduling of students, transition issues, academic concerns, orientation programs, mediation of conflicts, record keeping and testing. The guidance office is a center for information and communication. Conferences with both parents and/or students are held regularly and are encouraged. Counselors are available throughout the school day, and the scheduling of appointments is requested.

The counselors follow their students through both grades. The center of our efforts is working with students to help provide a meaningful, educational experience at the Middle School.
