Grade 7 students receive hands-on experiences in Technology education using wood. The students also receive instruction on the safe and efficient use of various hand and power tools, as well as fastening devices and finishing materials. The processes come to an end in projects that the students keep for his or her own use. Also included is information related to the construction, communication, and manufacturing areas. Problem solving skills are used throughout the course.
Grade 8 students are introduced to the problem solving process. This process will be further defined during problem solving projects in the classroom. Students will work individually, with a partner, and in small groups. The main goal for the 8th grade Technology Education program is to teach students how to think using the problem solving process.
