2012-2013 Budget Statement
At a meeting on June 4, 2012, the Governor Mifflin Board of School Directors voted to adopt the 2012-2013 budget in the amount of $62,671,438, which included a .8 mil tax increase. Board members agreed to the millage increase in order to preserve academic programs and narrow the $8 million deficit that is projected over the next five years.
This year, the district reduced its operational expenses, did not fill jobs through attrition, and expanded the district's special educational services to reduce out-of-district placements and associated costs.
Looking ahead, the district will continue its long-range budget planning process to address the quality and efficiency of its educational, operational and co-curricular programs.
