Athletic Trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled allied health care professionals and have been part of the American Medical Association's Health Professions Career and Education Directory for more than a decade. Additionally, the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine -- among others -- are all strong clinical and academic supporters of athletic trainers. As such, The Governor Mifflin Athletic Training Staff, under the supervision of Dr. Steven Soffer,( www.drsoffer.com )provides health care coverage to all Governor Mifflin School District athletes. We are qualified to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate injuries that occur as a result of athletic competition. When an injury occurs, we are able to assess the injury and if needed, refer to the appropriate medical personal. We have a well equipped athletic training room which allows us to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate many injuries, without referral to other medical personal. We also offer advice on general health, nutrition, strength, conditioning and performance enhancement.
