My Profile

Lindsay Gerhart
Secondary Teacher
Governor Mifflin Senior High School

Let's start from the beginning...

I was born and raised here in Berks County, in Wernersville. I went to Conrad Weiser where I graduated from in 2005. Then, I headed off to the greatest of all universities... Penn State! In college, I studied elementary education and earned a minor in math. When I graduated in 2009, I got a job teaching sixth grade math and science at Daniel Boone Middle School. Since then, I've come to Governor Mifflin as the elementary gifted coordinator and GEP teacher. Throughout my experiences, I found that my love of math was the most important to me, which has lead me to my current position as an Algebra 2 teacher at GMHS. In addition to teaching, I am the head coach of GM's high school cheerleading squad, I am currently working toward my Master's of Education in math at Millersville University, and I work as a private tutor for students who need additional help with math.

I LOVE Penn State  the college, the town, the football team, the Nittany Lion... all of it! I am also a huge Philadelphia sports fan, especially the hillies! I love to travel, no matter where I'm going. Some favorite places are Penn State (of course), the Outer Banks in NC, camping in Tioga county, Baltimore, and Philly (of course, again!). This past summer, I took my first adventure overseas to Belgium, Germany, and France! I love to read and do puzzles; I discovered KenKen puzzles last year and have enjoyed sharing them with your children. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, read and loved the Hunger Games, but I typically read mysteries and thrillers. Last year I started trying to be a runner and completed a 10-mile and half-marathon race. Since then, I've slowed down on the running front, but have started working out more frequently (if you see me at Colonial Fitness, say "Hi!").
