Domestic Violence

Support group founded to help stop domestic violence by helping the batterers change and holding them accountable to not re-victimize other families

Safe house for women and children up to 30 days; provides crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence and their children

Subcontracts with SAM to provide mental health and mental retardation services to eligible individuals. Also subcontracts Community Care Behavioral Health and administers oversight with the HealthChoices program.

Provides non-perishable food items and paper products to Mifflin area families needing assistance. Open every 3rd Saturday of the month from 9-11 a.m.



GED/English as a Second Language Assistance

Provides education and social services referrals to youth ages 14-21. Program also pays for GED testing.


Literacy Council of Reading/Berks – 610-670-9960

Provides workplace foundation skills training as well as support, materials and linkage services for clients. Also offers ESL classes and one-to-one trainings to improve literacy skills.

Reading Area Community College – 610-607-6227

Provides ABE/GED/ESL classes and GED testing.
