Dear Governor Mifflin High School Families,

We are writing to inform you of an incident which occurred today, March 2, 2022, at the Governor Mifflin High School. During a class change, an altercation occurred between two students, during which one of the students used mace on the other student. As a result of the mace being discharged, several students, including the students involved in the altercation, have gone to the nurse for irritation to the eyes, skin, and airways. Parents of students affected have been contacted and, in order to mitigate any further irritation, our maintenance department has worked to increase ventilation in the building.

We would like to assure our community that appropriate administrative protocol and disciplinary action is being followed. Our administration, school police officer, and the local police are working together in this matter. As a reminder to our parents and students, weapons of any kind are not permitted on school property. We kindly ask for your cooperation in keeping our schools safe for all.

Thank you,

Governor Mifflin School District
