Hello Governor Mifflin families,

As a follow up to yesterday’s message, we want to provide you with two additional resources to help prepare for our next phase of learning at home.

Chromebook distribution
Our Technology Team is currently preparing to distribute Chromebooks for students who need a device at home. If your child already has an electronic device at home and is able to access their “gostangs” account, please continue to use that device.

To help us prepare an appropriate amount of devices for distribution, please click here and complete this form. Your participation in completing this form is key to ensuring we have enough devices prepared and can accommodate all who need a device in an orderly manner.

If you do not currently have access to your child’s “gostangs” account and need a device at home for your child to engage in our continuous learning activities, our Technology Team will have a Chromebook distribution this Friday, March 27 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Governor Mifflin Intermediate School. Families should access the Intermediate School through the back of the building using the entrance at Elkins and Governor Drive. Chromebooks will be distributed at the pull-in/pick-up circle on the side of the building. Staff will be on site to guide you.

At home learning website
We are also providing you with a new website to help guide your at-home learning experience. The link to that site is: https://sites.google.com/gostangs.org/gmlearnathome This site will be linked to our district website and we recommend that you also add this to your bookmarked websites.

This website includes all of the free learning opportunities that we have previously provided, now organized by grade level. It also includes directions for accessing our upcoming daily lessons from Governor Mifflin teachers, tech support, and frequently asked questions. We will continue to update this site as needed throughout this period of closure.

I want to continue to encourage you to stay home, follow social distancing recommendations, and do your part to help keep our community healthy.

Sincerely,

Steve Gerhard
Superintendent
Governor Mifflin School District
