Hello Governor Mifflin families,

Thanks to the hard work of our custodial staff and our nurses and administrators who are performing contact tracing, Governor Mifflin High School will reopen to limited staff this afternoon. Any extracurricular activities scheduled for outside the building can resume this afternoon, but access to the building will be limited and students should plan to be outdoors only. The building will reopen fully for in-person instruction and activities on Monday, March 29.

This weekend’s community vaccination clinic, hosted by The Medicine Shoppe of Shillington, will be held, as planned, tomorrow morning. (Please note: This is not a district event and all appointments are scheduled through The Medicine Shoppe)

Our custodial and maintenance staff continues to work hard to make this year possible. Our nurses and administrators are also ensuring that all contact tracing is completed in a timely manner. Please honor their work and do your part to keep our buildings healthy and safe by continuing to practice physical distancing, masking, and frequent hand washing. It is also imperative that we continue to report confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 within your household. If you or someone in your household is symptomatic or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL. Instead, please report confirmed or suspected cases to our 24/7 COVID hotline at 610-775-1461 x. 1113 and please cooperate with contact tracing. These steps are crucial to helping keep our buildings open through the end of the school year.

Sincerely,

Bill McKay
Superintendent
Governor Mifflin School District
