GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS: Spring Diving Clinic  

o Individuals (Athletes, Coaches, and Lifeguards) should complete a personal health assessment daily.

  • If your temperature is 100.4 or higher, individual is showing symptoms or is sick, stay home.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Adhere to school adopted plans if you begin to show symptoms.

o Regularly and thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

  • Make sure to emphasize to all participants the importance of washing hands or using hand sanitizer before, during, and after facility usage.

o Schools are recommended to ensure that your facilities have been properly sanitized and have hand sanitizer and disposable masks readily available for practices and contests.

o Social distancing of at least 6 feet should be maintained at all times, where feasible.

o Individuals are required to wear face coverings in accordance with the Secretary of Health’s order on July 1st, 2020.

  • Everyone must wear a face covering, such as a mask, while in the facility and until the individual is the water.
  • Patrons are not required to wear face coverings while actively engaged in workouts and activities that prevent the wearing of face coverings, but must wear face coverings when on the pool deck, in the locker room facility, etc. and anytime 6 feet of social distancing is not possible.

The Governor Mifflin Diving Clinic will be held for all Age Group Divers interested in competitive diving. The clinic is eight practices long and will run Monday and Wednesday nights from March 22nd-April14th 5:30-7:00 pm. March 22nd- April 14th: Monday and Wednesday 5:30-7:00 pm

Practices

  • All athletes and coaches are required to wear face coverings in accordance with the Secretary of Health’s order on July 1st, 2020. Everyone must wear a face covering, such as a mask while in the facility, and until the individual is the water. Athletes are not required to wear face coverings while actively engaged in workouts and activities that prevent the wearing of face coverings, but must wear face coverings when on the pool deck, in the locker room facility, and anytime 6 feet of social distancing is not possible. Athletes should keep their masks on when they enter, are using, and leaving the locker rooms.
  • Coaches will be required to wear a mask at all times.
      • Practices: Monday and Wednesday
        • Health screen 5:20 pm
        •  In water 5:30-7:00 pm
        • Pick-up 7:00-7:10 pm

Health Screenings

  • All Coaches and Athletes will enter and exit the facility via the pool side lobby entrance.
  • All athletes will complete a Health Screening prior to entering the facility.
    • Health Screenings will begin at 5:20 pm, or once a coach is present.
      • An Age group coach will conduct health screenings with each athlete individually before athlete is permitted in the facility.
      • Health Screenings will take place in the pool side lobby. Athletes will form a line starting in the vestibule and will enter the lobby to complete health screening.
      • All coaches and student athletes should be screened for signs/symptoms of COVID-19 prior to a training session, and prior to parent/guardian leaving campus. (see appendix for screening questionnaire)
      • Responses to screening questions should be recorded and stored.
      • Any person with positive symptoms reported should not be allowed to take part in workouts and should contact his or her primary care provider or other appropriate health-care professional.
  • No parent or guardian will be permitted in the facility during practice times.
    • Athletes will need to be dropped off and picked up in the bus lane or parking lot in front of the pool vestibule.
    • It is essential to be on time for arrival and departure each evening.

Locker Room Policy

  • All athletes will be required to arrive and leave in their suits. There will be no locker room usage by Age Group athletes other than bathroom usage.
  • Athletes should be arriving with a bag to store their belongings and all bags will be stored in the bleachers every 6 ft.
    • There is blue tap in the bleachers to ensure the athletes are storing their items 6 apart.
    • With the cold weather it will be extremely important that athletes are warming warm attire to put over their wet suits and heads when they are leaving the facility.
      • Athletes will not be permitted to leave wrapped in their towels.
      • Deck changing is not permitted.
    • Athletes can use the bathrooms located in the locker room during practice.

Hydration

  • Athlete’s must bring their own FILLED water bottle to training sessions.
  • If an athlete shows up without at least one filled water bottle, they may not participate.
  • NO sharing of water bottles
  • No water fountains will be utilized.
  • Bottle filling station will be permitted. Athlete must have his own water bottle to fill.

Sanitization

  • Chlorine will sanitize the equipment used during practice.
  • We have QT plus that the coaching staff can utilize for any equipment that will not be used in the water.
  • Hand sanitizers are located throughout the facility for the coaches and athletes use.

Example of Covid Screening:

  • Have you been diagnosed with Covid-19?
  • Have you experienced symptoms of Covid-19?
  • Do you have a fever?
  • Do you have a cough?
  • Do you have a sore throat?
  • Have you experienced any loss in taste and/or smell?
  • Are you experiencing shortness of breath?
  • Have you had close contact, or cared for someone with Covid-19?
  • Does athlete have a filled water bottle with them to drink?
