Hello Governor Mifflin families,

Due to the number of COVID-19 cases at Governor Mifflin Middle School, GMMS will be closed for all activities and classes on Monday, April 12 and Tuesday, April 13. The building is scheduled to reopen on the morning of Wednesday, April 14.

All GM Middle School students should log in for virtual learning on Monday, April 12 at the start of the school day. Tuesday, April 13 was already scheduled as an asynchronous learning day, so there will be no classes streaming on Tuesday and students should plan to complete the asynchronous assignments posted in their Google Classrooms.

The COVID-19 case numbers at GMMS have reached the threshold for closure based on Department of Health protocols and case numbers as defined by the attestation order signed and submitted by the district last November. While the building is closed, our maintenance staff will perform a deep cleaning of all spaces and surfaces.

Please continue to follow our district Health and Safety Plan and perform daily health screenings. It is important that we continue to be diligent in our practices of masking, hand washing, and physical distancing, even for those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine. Please continue to report all COVID-19 cases, suspected cases, or pending test results within your home to our COVID hotline 610-775-1461 x. 1113.

Sincerely,
Bill McKay
Superintendent
Governor Mifflin School District
