GOVERNOR MIFFLIN EDUCATION FOUNDATION
A LEGACY & A PROMISE
The Governor Mifflin Education Foundation (GMEF) was founded in 1994 and was the first non-profit organization of its kind in Berks County. GMEF’s mission is grounded in supporting the initiatives and efforts of Governor Mifflin School District educators who strive to reach new heights in providing students with a robust and future-focused education.
EXPANDING OUR IMPACT
To date, GMEF has provided more than $300,000 in funding for innovative programs, including a free Pre-K community literacy program and a global STEM learning project. GMEF has also helped supplement the purchase of vital classroom technology to support learning in the 21st Century. In 2016, GMEF renewed its mission to support cutting edge programming by pledging to back the Mifflin Summer Zone. The Mifflin Summer Zone is developed and led by Governor Mifflin teachers and provides summer learning experiences for all students. GMEF has helped expand this program by providing funding for supplies and financial aid for students. Over the next several years, GMEF’s goal is to provide 100% of the funding for this valuable summer program.
