Governor Mifflin Familes:

On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, Governor Mifflin High School will administer the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT) during the school day from 7:35-11:00 a.m. Due to weather conditions in January 2021, GMHS was not able to administer the PSAT to grade 10 students on the day that testing was scheduled for our school. As such, we are inviting all students in grades 10 and 11 to take the PSAT this school year at absolutely no cost to you!

Based on our records, approximately 700 GMHS students will be able to participate in this testing on October 13. In order to accommodate the predicted number of students taking the test and to lessen the disruption to our school day, only those students in grades 10 and 11 electing to take the PSAT will report to school and remain on campus the entire day. Testing will occur in the morning, and the students will report to blocks 1, 3, 5 and 7 in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided.

Students in grades 9 and 12 as well as those students in grades 10 and 11 who choose not to take the PSAT will remain at home and complete asynchronous work for blocks 1, 3, 5 and 7 in the morning. In the afternoon, 4 30-minute synchronous online classes (live Google Meets) will be held to follow-up on the asynchronous work from the morning classes.

BCTC students in grades 10 and 11 electing to take the PSAT, must report to GMHS no later than 7:35 a.m. and remain on campus the entire day. Testing will occur in the morning, and the students will report to blocks 1, 3, 5 and 7 in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided. These students must check-in at the attendance office upon their arrival in the morning. All other BCTC students will report to their respective BCTC campus at 7:30 a.m. and return to GMHS at 10:45 a.m. These students will eat lunch and then attend their abbreviated classes in person.

Next school year, GMHS will return to its normal PSAT procedure; testing will be offered to students in grade 10 only, and our school day schedule will not be altered.
