Your senior year is a busy time filled with many activities and festivities. With that comes a few deadlines that are key to ensuring you are part of important senior milestones. Please refer to the information on this page and follow the deadlines provided to help you have a successful and memorable year.

The Class of 2020 Commencement ceremony is tentatively scheduled to be held at the Santander Arena in Reading on Friday, May 29, 2020 beginning at 6:00 p.m. If your son or daughter is an “off-campus” student (GM Gold online or off-campus placement), please notify GMHS Co-graduation Coordinator, Mrs. Azzarello, at of his or her interest in participating in the ceremony no later than Friday,
December 13, 2019.

All diploma forms must be completed, signed by a parent, and returned to the GMHS main office by Friday, November 15, 2019. Returning this form will ensure the accurate spelling of your child’s formal name on the GMHS diploma. This form must be completed and returned to the GMHS main office whether or not your son or daughter decides to participate in the Commencement ceremony. If the form is not returned, the name we have on file for your child will be used.

Caps & Gowns

During a senior class meeting held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, a representative from Student Services Company distributed cap and gown ordering information as well as material regarding the annual senior class fundraiser, Simply Scrumptious. Cap and gown orders can be placed online at, dropped off in the GMHS main office, or by calling Student Services Company at 1-800-600-9107. All cap and gown orders must be ordered by Friday, November 15, 2019.

Checks are to be made payable to Student Services Company. A late fee of $5.00 will be incurred if your order is received after this date. All graduating seniors are required to wear a cap and gown if they are planning to walk at Commencement.

A student may only use an older sibling’s cap and gown if the sibling graduated in 2019. If this is your intention, please notify GMHS Co-graduation Coordinator, Miss Rowlands, at by Friday, November 15, 2019. Please note, you will be required to place an order for a “2020” tassel only. Extra order forms are available in the main office.

Graduation Stationary
In order to meet our printing deadline for personalized graduation stationery, the date of Commencement will be written as “May 2020.” The GMSD School Board will approve the final date of Commencement in April 2020. Stationery orders as well as orders for all other graduation products are due by Friday, November 15, 2019.

Your son or daughter is encouraged to participate in all senior class fundraisers which will help offset the costs for items such as the class gift, class trip, and end-of-year class picnic.

All Simply Scrumptious orders must be dropped off in the GMHS main office by Friday, November 15, 2019. Students will collect orders for poinsettias Monday, October 28 through Thursday, November 14, 2019. Pick up for both fundraisers, Simply Scrumptious and poinsettias, will take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium lobby.
