SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM
What is Governor Mifflin Summer Lunch?
Summer Lunch provides free breakfasts and lunches to all children throughout the summer months. The meals are served and prepared by Governor Mifflin Food Service staff.
Who can participate in Summer Lunch?
Anybody ages 18 years old and younger are welcome to enjoy lunch through the Summer Lunch program, regardless of residency. There is no registration required.
When are lunches available?
Lunches are available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Where are lunches available?
Lunches will be served at Cumru Elementary School (601 Philadelphia Avenue, Shillington, PA 19607). All meals must be consumed on-site. Grab and go is not available for 2022.
Why are lunches only available at Cumru Elementary School?
Cumru Elementary School met the USDA qualification guidelines to be a Summer Food Service Program site because of the number of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch at that building.
How much does this program cost the district?
The Summer Food Service Program is a federally funded program administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. There is no additional cost to the Governor Mifflin School District or local tax payers.
Are there other free lunch sites available?
